Belgian designer Raf Simons launched his namesake label in 1995. Wanting to communicate "pride in individuality", his collections combine rebellious youth culture with traditional menswear. Shirts with graphics and prints, hoodies emblazoned with patches and deconstructed tailored jackets present a new masculinity and convey an attitude of independence. Simons' aesthetic is informed by his love of contemporary art and design and he has worked with artists like Sterling Ruby and Peter Saville. He frequently collaborates with a range of brands, such as Eastpak, adidas and Dr Martens, and most recently he joined Miuccia Prada as her first ever co-creative director.
