Taiga Takahashi

Known for its reconstruction of early 20th-century garments, the Japanese brand Taiga Takahashi works with traditional manufacturing methods and small-scale production. Fabrics are woven in local ateliers using vintage looms with a focus on fiber quality, density and texture, and each material is dyed and finished using regionally rooted techniques.

Each piece is developed through detailed archival research. Patterns are recreated from historical originals, and construction relies on manual processes such as chain-stitching, hand-sewn buttonholes and custom-cast hardware. Taiga Takahashi’s approach connects contemporary clothing with heritage craft by preserving techniques that are rarely used in modern production.

The brand appeals to those interested in Japanese craftsmanship, archival design and garments made with slow, precise methods.
