Margaret Howell

A self-proclaimed "hands-on designer", Margaret Howell has been making clothes for fifty years. The British designer made her name with menswear, drawn to it for its structure and functionality. Striving for a timeless and lived-in look, Howell designs clothes to last and finds reassurance in traditional materials like tweed, linen, cashmere and poplin. Alongside the shirting and relaxed tailoring of the mainline collection is the MHL line, which expands on the idea of utility—offering t-shirts, track tops and functional outerwear.
