British designer Jean-Luc Ambridge Lavelle found his way to fashion as a side step to his education in graphic and critical design. During the lockdowns of 2020, he started sharing his DIY project under his Instagram moniker _J.L-A.L_. Using CLO software and 3D printing, his self taught techniques for garment construction mirrors his interests in technical wear as well as a mindset for sustainable production - reducing sampling and waste. Made from locally sourced dead stock fabrics, his striking yet minimal designs often takes its inspiration from the British landscape, and are made to be functional as sport and outdoor wear.
